Senior Frontend Engineer

Our Direct to Consumer business is performing and growing strongly, which is why we - within CRM & Membership team in Technology - are looking for a Frontend Engineer to scale On's online business to the next level. As an experienced engineer, you will contribute to building first-in-class web applications and digital services with a premium membership experience. You will be sitting in our office in Berlin and collaborate closely with the cross-functional Digital teams in both locations.

Your Mission

- Together with your team, you will raise the ecom membership experience to the next level
- You optimize applications for maximum speed, performance, scalability and accessibility
- You set a good example of balancing between delivery and quality having the user in mind
- You will be working closely with stakeholders and UX designers (using design systems)
- You are working autonomously and are seeking to improve collaboration with your team and stakeholders (share knowledge, guide & mentor teammates, build community, drive alignment, proactive communication and lead projects with technical decision making)
- You will consistently provide/ask feedback to/from peers in order to improve your skills and challenge the status quo

Your Story

- You have a strong foundation in building mid-to-large-scale web applications using TypeScript and modern JS reactive frameworks like Vue.js (our choice) or React as well as API design using GraphQL (Apollo client is a plus) or REST - (including software architecture, design patterns, test-driven development, asynchronous request handling)
- You have technical proficiency and experience in building, rolling-out and operating customer facing web applications using appropriate metrics
- You have experience using build tools like Webpack or Rollup, and you are familiar with the node/npm/yarn eco-system - Nuxt.js/SSR, Cypress/Playwright and monorepos are a plus
- You have deep knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, animations and UX/UI principles to build websites that work for humans and search engines alike
- You have strong English verbal and written communication skills
- You are curious at heart and drive your personal growth

You will collaborate with roles including Software Engineers, QA Engineers, Product Managers, Data Analytics, Marketing and others.
