In what Glossier is calling as its biggest launch in its 10-year history, the beauty brand unveiled Impressions of Glossier You, two extensions to its best-selling eau de parfum on Wednesday evening.

The new formulations push You into two different directions: You Rêve, which skews gourmand (with a sweet smell), and You Doux, a woody white floral. Both cost $78, and will be available on Glossier.com and Sephora on Oct. 3. The fragrances were formulated by Frank Voelkl, the nose responsible for some of Le Labo’s greatest hits, including Santal 33, as well as Glossier’s original You (co-nosed by Dora Baghriche).

Founder Emily Weiss said that they’re just the beginning of the brand’s fragrance ambitions. “I can see a shelf with six to eight Yous on it,” she told BoF.

The brand celebrated the launch with a party on New York City’s East River in the Long Island City neighbourhood in Queens on Wednesday. Curtains parted to a live performance by musician Ego Ella May, while a tiered dessert display was suspended at the room’s centre. Press and influencers arrived by ferry.

Formulated with a base of ambrox (an amber-scented base note) and designed to smell uniquely on each wearer, You sells one bottle each 18 seconds, the brand claims. Last year, it became Sephora’s best-selling fragrance SKU in stores and online. Glossier indicated its intent to expand You earlier this summer with Créme de You, a body butter infused with the scent.

Since Kyle Leahy joined Glossier as CEO in 2022, the buzzy beauty brand has ramped up its product development exponentially, releasing a new SKU every four to six weeks.

How Anastasia Beverly Hills Lost Its Footing

The influencer-favourite brand seemed on rocket-like trajectory in the 2010s, culminating in a reported $3 billion valuation in 2018. But since then, trends have shifted, sales have slid, debt has mounted and its main investor, the private equity firm TPG Capital, is ready to move on.
