Job Details
The world's fastest growing sports company is seeking a Senior Footwear Costing Specialist to join our Costing team in Vietnam. Based in the Ho Chi Minh office, you will support the Footwear Costing Lead in driving brand costing strategic direction and optimizing cost of footwear products. You will play a key role in determining and managing the cost of footwear products from the design phase to final production. You will also coordinate and facilitate all costing-related topics internally within the Costing team and externally with other functions.
Your Mission
- Manage and ensure accurate and timely cost breakdown sheets from On's manufacturing partners across seasons and development stages and communicate internal and external with stakeholders
- Collaborate with the design, product development and product management teams during the development season to understand design intent, product functionality and quality expectations and provide insights on cost-effective alternatives
- Monitor and analyze costs from different development stages to production
- Actively contribute to margin maximization through key levers such as Costing standardization, Costing engineering, Pattern efficiency, Material Cost strategy and any other profitability-related initiatives with the aim to deliver product value to the consumer while improving company profitability
- Support Costing Lead to track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) of different tier suppliers
- Collaborate with supply planning teams on product volume forecasts, identify potential bottlenecks and actively act accordingly
- Continuously assess footwear production processes and material costs to identify opportunities for cost-saving initiatives without compromising brand integrity
- Maintain accurate and complete costing data on PLM systems
- Stay up to date on footwear industry and business trends and drivers to support proactive adjustment to the dynamic cost environment
Your Story
- 5+ years' experience in footwear costing, development or engineering with strong understanding of footwear manufacturing, processes and constructions.
- Experience working with sole costing is a strong plus
- Ability to work collaboratively across different teams, remain flexible and handle pressure situations
- Strong price negotiation, problem solving skills and impeccable integrity
- Good commercial sense, analysis skills, passion for numbers and engineering
- Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint and project management tools. Experience with PLMs and digital costing tools such as Rising Star is a plus
- Good interpersonal and communication skills in a fast-paced environment
- Fluent in English spoken and written; Chinese (Mandarin) is a plus
