Position Overview
This position will be responsible for supporting the day to day VAT compliance function and its transformation to automation, including third party co-source as well as partnering with existing IT, Finance and other business teams in the areas of International VAT and Trade matters. Critical to this role is an understanding of the technical issues impacting tax compliance, including digital taxation, the ability to handle to answer to business day to day demands.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
* Key contact point with external providers to ensure timely preparation and submission of VAT returns completion in the most efficient manner by proceeding final reconciliation, review and payments coordination.
* Maintain and provide tax codes to internal stakeholders to ensure proper settings in SAP including guidelines.
* To validate the outcome of IT settings for new projects flows related to VAT aspects to ensure robust compliance.
* To support VAT and Customs Director in providing professional and robust tax and legal advice on all VAT EMEA matters.
* Lead VAT Audits (internal & external).
* To support VAT and Customs Director to drive efficiency and quality improvements and automation transformation projects from end to end. (IT or external providers).
* To provide advise and guidances to internal stakeholders related to VAT to ensure robust tax compliance and support RL in his medium term strategy.
* To support VAT and Customs Director with other adhoc projects as and when required.
Experience, Skills & Knowledge
• Fully conversant with VAT EMEA legislation.
• VAT background combined with good experience around ERP systems (SAP, other ERP systems), technology, data and processes.
• Ability to multi-task across number complex projects, be quick thinking and eager to solve problems.
• Excellent organizational skills and autonomy in the work.
• Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing environments.
• Accounting and/or audit experience is essential - and a recognized accounting qualification or equivalent work experience
• 5 to 10 full performance cycles experience in a similar role
