The Industrial Engineer is responsible for identifying and implementing efficiencies within the manufacturing process. The Industrial Engineer (IE) partners with Manufacturing and Engineering to make recommendations and develop improvements in facility layout, equipment, and manufacturing process. The IE manages relevant projects and utilizes Lean principles to ensure the highest levels of efficiency. Greater than 50% of the IE's workday should be spent on the manufacturing production floor.
Required Qualifications:
Working knowledge of basic quality tools such as Pareto Analysis, Control Plans, PPAPs and FMEA, SPC, 6 Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, and 5S Toyota Production Systems
Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of jewelry manufacturing techniques and precious metallurgy
Working knowledge of JD Edwards System or other enterprise systems
CAD knowledge (Autocad, Rhino, Solidworks, other)

- Work Safely at all time by consistently following safe work procedures for the position, as well as all safety procedures required at the work site. Promptly report all incidents and safety issues to the supervisor. Adhere to all safety requirements. Provide safety leadership among co-workers.
- Time and motion studies: Study and analyze labor, turn time, productivity, equipment, etc. on a scheduled recurring basis. Responsible for developing or maintaining work measurement standards for various operational job functions and processes. Create analytical & statistical tools, database queries, reports and related items to aid this effort, Recommend workflow, equipment, facility layout changes, or other changes based on analysis.
- Lean manufacturing: Identify areas for the introduction/ improvement of Lean/SS manufacturing processes. Make recommendations where applicable for best practices, process optimization and waste reduction, performance measurement. Deliverables include waste reduction, improved efficiencies within manufacturing. Working understanding of cGMP and manufacturing operations and practices. Experience using industry Problem Solving Tools such as 8D, Fishbone/Cause-Effect, or CAPA methodology. Develop processes to be trouble free and ensure success every time (zero defects) Analyze and resolve process problems utilizing SPC techniques, and strong analytical skills.
- Product costing: Define and analyze product costing process. Identify opportunities within the manufacturing process for cost reduction through improved efficiencies. Evaluate opportunity to increase production efficiency by evaluating production machinery, process flow, and work instruction, research new technology and suggest new machines and processes as applicable. Initiate and implement cost reduction programs related to process methods and technology.
- Project management: Define scope, schedule, and means of implementation for industrial engineering projects. Facilitate project team meetings, updates, research, and the presentation of relevant analysis and materials. Utilize core understanding of engineering processes to assist in integration of technical solutions into existing processes
- Industry 4.0: Managing small to medium projects related to MES and ensuring that the appropriate controls, approvals, and validation requirements are implemented. Maintain Manufacturing Execution Systems utilizing industry best practices. Supports the continuous improvement of the MES, digital systems. Ensure successful adoption and scale-up of digital programs supporting Industry 4.0 strategy.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor or Science in Engineering or related with 4+ years related experience
- Previous Time Study or Work Measurement Standards development experience
- Excellent written, verbal communication and presentation skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with emphasis on team work.
- Ability to understand, communicate, and create technical manufacturing documentation
- Strong analytical, research, and related skills
- Solid project & time management skills
- Required experience with good documentation practices and cGMP standards
- Ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Ability to manage priorities, deliverables, and schedule
- Willingness to work in a fast-paced environment.
