■Position Overview
The Head of Finance for Japan will be responsible for overseeing all finance-related functions for the country, including financial planning and analysis, accounting, control, procurement, and legal. This role will play a key role in driving the financial success of Tiffany & Co. in Japan and ensuring compliance with applicable accounting standards and company policies. The qualified candidate will have strong leadership, technical, and communication skills, as well as a deep understanding of the local market.

The Head of Finance for Japan will be responsible for overseeing all finance-related functions for the country, including financial planning and analysis, accounting, control, procurement, and legal. This role will play a key role in driving the financial success of Tiffany & Co. in Japan and ensuring compliance with applicable accounting standards and company policies. The qualified candidate will have strong leadership, technical, and communication skills, as well as a deep understanding of the local market.
■ Key Accountabilities
- Lead financial planning and analysis function in Japan, including the annual budgeting and forecasting process. Work closely with business partners to develop and analyze financial targets and key performance indicators. Develop and maintain financial models to support decision-making and business planning. Be a strong business partner to the President of Japan, helping to drive the business forward through meaningful insights and recommendations.
- Oversee accounting activities and financial reporting for Japan operations, including the month-end financial close process. Coordinate with all key stakeholders to ensure a timely and accurate closing process. Provide cash flow and similar information required for global reporting. Identify and implement opportunities to streamline the reporting processes. Provide the primary external point of contact for financial counterparts (government, external auditors, etc)
- Ensure compliance with the Company's internal controls framework. Identify and implement process and internal controls enhancements. Maintain productive relationships with the Company's auditors; function as a key audit contact and provide effective support for audit and review procedures.
- Provide strong leadership and development for a large team, which includes ensuring that the Performance Management Process is executed effectively. Establish and continuously evaluate the department's organization structure, resources, and succession planning.
■Requirments
- Degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
- 12+ years experience in finance or related experience
- Strong technical skills and understanding of accounting standards
- Understanding on local market
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Influential; ability to develop effective working relationships at all levels within an organization
- Experience leading and motivating large teams
- Ability to provide career guidance and develop talent
- Strong organizational skills; deadline oriented
■Preferred
- MBA in finance or advance degree in related field
- Experience with IFRS
- Japanese language
