Product Developer

Job Summary:

The Product Developer is responsible for overseeing the development of new apparel and accessories from concept through to final production. This role involves collaborating with designers, sourcing materials, managing production timelines, and ensuring that each product meets the brand's high standards of quality, aesthetics, and brand integrity. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Product Lifecycle Management: Manage the end-to-end product development process, from initial design concepts through sampling and production, ensuring products meet design, quality, and profitability objectives. 
• Collaborating with Designers: Partner with the design team to understand creative concepts and ensure designs are executable within production constraints, offering solutions when necessary. 
• Sourcing Materials & Trims: Identify and source high-quality fabrics, trims, and materials that align with the brand's aesthetic and standards. Ensure all components meet quality, budget, and sustainability goals.
• Sample Development: Oversee the creation of prototypes and samples, providing detailed feedback to vendors to ensure proper fit, construction, and finishing techniques. 
• Vendor Relations: Work closely with international manufacturers to ensure accurate execution of designs. Maintain clear communication with suppliers, ensuring on-time delivery and adherence to quality standards.
• Cost Management: Collaborate with the product and merchandising teams to manage the product's cost structure, negotiating prices with vendors while maintaining quality and brand integrity. 
• Quality Control: Conduct quality checks throughout the development process to ensure all products meet the brand's standards for craftsmanship, fit, and performance. 
• Timelines & Project Management: Monitor development timelines and manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring all deadlines are met and products are ready for launch.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design and Technology, or a related field.
• 5+ years experience in product development, ideally within streetwear or menswear.
• Strong knowledge of garment construction, materials sourcing, and manufacturing processes.
• Experience working with international suppliers, with a range of relevant contacts for the role.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines with a high level of organisation and attention to detail.
• Proficiency in design and product lifecycle management software (e.g., Adobe Illustrator, Zedonk etc).
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills. 
• Passion for streetwear culture.
