Design Intern

This is an exciting opportunity to join the young and dynamic team at Sister Jane and participate in the growth and development of the brand.

 We are looking for a strong creative candidate who thrives working in a fast-paced environment and who can contribute across areas of design, production and development of the brand.

 As a Fashion Design Intern, you will be responsible for providing admin support to the Design team, working across the Sister Jane Menswear, Sister Jane, Dream Sister Jane and Ghospell ranges.

Reporting to the Senior Designer, you will work on collections and smaller projects from initial concept to completion. Using your creative and practical skills you will be a key contributor to the Design process; demonstrating commercial awareness, understanding of shape, colour, fabric, print and customer demand.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Working closely with the Design, Production and Garment Tech teams.
• Support in conducting trend research and contribute towards collection stories. 
• Identify key trends and colour stories for the season.
• Creating CADs and tech packs.
• Develop a good understanding of the Sister Jane customer and core sellers.
• Manage the office space, samples and fabrics.

PROFILE:

• Fashion BA Hons or equivalent qualification.
• Excellent skills in CAD and technical drawings.
• A keen eye for current trends and a strong interest in fashion.
• An interest in Menswear design and unisex product is preferred.
• Eager to take on responsibilities and take initiative. 
• Strong storytelling ability.
• Self motivated with the desire to learn and develop skill set.
• Strong team working, organisation and communication skills.
• A knowledge of print design is preferred but not compulsory.
• Good knowledge of garment construction.
